Men, we’ve hit nutrition, weight training, walking—science-backed, no hype.
Step back.
What we really forged: stronger heart, leaner body, denser bones, sharper mind, steadier emotions, lower cancer/mortality risk, better focus, less anxiety, more grit. Check the Fitness Resource Guide for sources on these benefits.
That’s the Forge doing its work.
Choices today echo far beyond today.
This isn’t self-improvement for a better “you.”
This is becoming a disciple Christ can deploy—body, mind, spirit ready for whatever He calls.
A family needs help moving? You carry boxes, not excuses.
A brother gets saved and doesn’t know next steps? You’ve walked the path—you guide him.
Ephesians 4:1 hits hard:
“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.”
I want my life worthy of that calling—bought by Christ’s blood.
Health and strength aren’t optional.
They’re part of walking worthy.
What This Looks Like in My Life
No hour-by-hour blueprint here.
That’s mimicry, not ownership.
Here’s my rhythm after 18 months of tweaks.
Own yours. Adapt it. Forge it.
- 4:45a alarm
- 5:30a: 2-mile walk (40–45 min)
- Mon/Wed/Fri: 45 min lift + post-shake (almond milk + whey)
- 6:30a: Bible (7–10+ chapters, 40 min)
- 7:45a: Office—4 hours content creation
- Noon-ish: Lunch (<450 cal, >50g protein—my rules, my options)
- Afternoon: Meditation (45 min)
- 2–3 hours more content
- Evening: Dinner (<600 cal, >60g protein)
- 1 show, 1 hour reading (psychology, nutrition, theology)
- Bed by 9:15
This didn’t appear overnight.
I started with a few steps post-Long Covid.
Half a mile. Then one. Then two every morning.
Added lifting when I learned the upside.
Tweak. Test. Own.
That’s the process.
At 64—two new knees, two new hips, rebuilt body/mind—I have energy for ministry meetings, men’s group, disciple lunches, this site.
Without the Forge, I’d be sidelined.
You don’t want that.
The Big Picture
Live worthy.
Help others forge maturity.
That takes focus, effort, consistency, discipline.
Fitness is the foundation that lets you show up for the calling.
Take ownership today.
Start small. Direction over speed.
The Fitness Resource Guide is in the Resources tab—articles, videos, books, podcasts to fuel your familiarization.
Use it. Own it.
A faith-forged man doesn’t wait passively.
He moves. He adapts.
He represents Christ with body and soul.
Who’s stepping into the forge right now to build a life worthy of the calling?
Pete is Out.
